Tattoo Related F.A.Q.

1.) How can you set up an appointment?

The easiest and best way to set up an appointment is to email me with a description of the tattoo that you are thinking of getting. You can try calling or coming in to the shop but I am usually tattooing and can’t always take a break to talk. If you feel it is something you would like to talk about in person, we can always set up a consultation appointment before setting up an actual tattoo appointment.

2.) How much do I charge?

I currently charge $150 per hour and my minimum for pin-up and portrait work is $500. The $500 minimum is not in addition to my hourly rate.

3.) Why do I have a minimum price for portraits?

The minimum is mainly there to discourage people from going too small and sacrificing the outcome of the tattoo in order to save time or money. There is a size restriction on faces that you should not go smaller than if you want to capture likeness and detail. Also, going too small does not hold up as well over time because the detail is cramed into too small a space. A portrait should preferably be at least the size of your palm and a pin-up is best at least the size of you forearm.

4.) Do I charge for artwork?

No. As long as what I am drawing is for your tattoo, I don’t charge anything extra.

5.) Do you need to leave a deposit?

Yes. I take a flat $50 deposit for smaller, single session work or $150 (the last hour of your last session) for bigger multiple session work. Your deposit is non-refundable but will move with your appointment in case you need to reschedule as long as you give me 24 hour notice. Your deposit comes out of the price of your tattoo when your tattoo is finished. For out of town clients or people who can’t come into the shop to leave a deposit, you can email me and I will send you a deposit request through Paypal.

6.) What am I most interested in tattooing?

The female form in any fashion is definitely my favorite thing to tattoo/draw/paint. I also love doing portraits and other realistic or finely detailed tattoos. I like to mix it up sometimes so I don’t get bored so sometimes I take on things outside my norm just for the challenge. Really I just like making art so I can usually get into any idea you throw at me as long as I can have enough freedom to create and add a little of my own style in to it. If I don’t feel any connection to a tattoo idea I can usually give you a good suggestion of who I would recommend for the job.

7.) Do I do cover-ups or retouch old tattoos?

I would love to say no to this question, but I a a bit of a softy…so, if I feel that what you want is interesting, I’m confident it will make a good cover-up, the tattoo you want is reasonably coverable, and you are really nice then yes. Sometimes I do cover-ups. As far as retouching old tattoos, I have done some in the past but I try not to do too much of that type of work anymore.

8.) How far out do I usually book?

On average I only really like to book myself out about a month so that I can have the freedom in my schedule to add travel dates without too much inconvenience. In reality, as of now, I am almost always booked out at least 2 months or so…

Art Related F.A.Q.

1.) Do I sell my artwork outside of tattooing?

Yes. Seriously my house is full of it and that seems really egotistical when company comes over… Check out my Store page and you can purchase your favorite one right now! Go see what's available now!

2.) Can you commission me for a painting?

Maybe. I have done paintings by commission in the past and take them on much like a tattoo. If it is something that I think I will enjoy doing and be able to do a good job at then probably yes.

3.) Do I sell prints of my artwork?

Yes, but not of every piece. If you are interested in buying a print of a certain piece of artwork that is not listed as a print on my store page please email me and I’ll see what I can do.
